1 John 5:11 ESV
And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
Sometime God says us to do the simple thing. A simple task. A simple command. but we do not trust. We will learn how our Testimony Change lives. Sharing you a story of the little Girl from Israel who was carried by Syrians on one of their raids. She was serving Naaman’s wife.
Naman was a commander of Army of the king of Syria. He was Mighty man but was a leper. once she said to her mistress “Would that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy.” (2 King 5:3)
So Naman went in to the king and told about that girl from the land of Israel King agreed and sent Naaman to the king of Israel with recommendation letter. Naaman went taking with him 10 talents of silver six thousand shekels of gold, and 10 changes of clothing.
When Naaman reach to the king and saw the letter, he got angry. because it was written in the letter “when this letter reaches you know that I have sent to you Naaman my servant, that you may cure him of his leprosy.” (2 King 5:6) King filled with anger, tore his clothes and Said “Am I God to kill and to make alive, that this man sends word to me to cure a man of his leprosy? King thought the king of Syria seeking a quarrel with me. But the Elisha, who was the prophet in Israel that time. heared about this news. He sent a message to the king “why have you tore your clothes? let him come now to me, that he may know that there is a prophet in Israel.” (2 King 5:8)
Naaman stood before Elisha’s door.Elisha sent a Messenger to him saying “go and wash in the Jordan Seven times. and you shall be restored and you shall be clean.” (2 King 5:10) Now this time Naaman got angry. because he was expecting that the prophet will come out and pray and cure the leper. Sometime this happens in our life. we have own hypothesis or theology. he disagree for this simple task. Naaman said like that “Are not Abana and Pharpar the rivers of Damascus better than all the waters of Israel? could I not wash in them and clean?(2 King5:12) He went away with rage. Now his servant suggested to Naman, “my father it is a great word the prophet has a spoken to you; will you not do it? He has actually said to you; wash, and be clean.?” (2 King 5:13)
Finally! Naaman agreed and went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the word of the man of God, and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child and he was clean.
What a intresting story it is! What we can learn from this story? Your simple testimony can make the change. Although Naman was angry with Elisha but a polite suggestion from his servant make him restored.
No matter what is the task. we should obey and trust What God speaks to us. God spokes on His way. Let God open our eyes to see the things God wanted to saw us. And also open our ears to hear the Word of God. God use you mightily and make you the man of trust.
